记得《广告狂人》（Mad Men）刚刚出来的时候，我对广告行业还一无所知。对于这部戏的感觉也是剧情又慢又长，文戏又多，很多时候都是为了里面精致的布景、讲究的服装、动听的音乐以及纸醉金迷、酒池肉林的氤氲气氛才勉强续上剧情。
十几年过去了，《广告狂人》这部剧也落下了帷幕。但里面角色之间的对白，对于广告人而言，依然值得被奉为圭臬，仔细品味。
这些个金句，有些是说创意，有些是谈人生，有些是说职场，有的在谈性别，林林总总，什么都有。当然，因为时代与文化的限制，有些“金句”已被氧化，褪下了那层闪耀的颜色。但金无足赤，这些语句依然能激励了我们从另一个角度思考工作与生活。

如果有人没看过这部剧（虽然我真的强烈建议所有做创意的人都去看），那我还是大概介绍一下主要人物。唐·特雷普是男主角，帅气且聪明，多金又多情，芳心纵火犯，职场老油条，主要的金句输出；贝蒂·特雷普·弗朗西斯、琼·霍洛威、佩吉·奥尔森是三位围绕在唐身边的女性——贝蒂是前妻，琼是同事，佩吉是下属。一个天真软弱，一个成熟世故，一个有样学样。罗杰、皮特、肯、波比、费都是唐在工作中遇见的同事与客户，他们有的狡猾、有的卑鄙、有的忠诚、有的聪慧……这些围绕在唐身边的人物，为我们交织出了一副六十年代美国“浮世绘”。

广告就是建立在一件事情上：幸福感。那么幸福是什么？ 幸福， 是新车的气味， 是无所畏惧的自由， 是路边的一块广告牌， 而那块广告牌让你尖叫和惊叹，并向你保证，无论你做什么… 都是没有问题的。
Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It’s freedom from fear. It’s a billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you’re doing is OK. You are OK.

（这里有一个双关梗，toasted可以表示是被祝福过的，也可以表示是烘烤过的。这里既说明了“好彩”牌香烟是烤烟，也说明它不像其它烟是有毒的，而是被祝福过的。但是依然，吸烟有害健康。）
